Kwara State Monthly Sanitation Exercise Holds Saturday June 25th, 2022.


This is to inform the general public that the monthly sanitation exercise for the month of June will hold on Saturday 25th, 2022 from 7:00 am to 9:00 am.

Members of the public are hereby enjoined to fully participate in the sanitation exercise by cleaning their residential and business environments.
 
Everybody is expected to stay at home to clean up their surroundings.
                         
The monitoring agencies will be on ground to monitor compliance and it will be strictly observed across all the 16 Local Government Areas in the  State. 
   
According to a release issued by the Ministry of Environment, there will be no vehicular and human movement except  those on essential services; Medical personnels, Journalists and Security agencies.

Violators of Environmental Laws during the sanitation exercise would be tried and sanctioned by Mobile Courts stationed at designated points across the State.
   
Waste management trucks will be on the street for waste collection and disposal to the the final dumpsite during the exercise in the Ilorin metropolis.

Illegal Itakudima Dumpsite To Be Evacuated- Banigbe

Against the backdrop of the rising wave of illegal dumpsites within Ilorin, the  Kwara State Capital, the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Remilekun Banigbe, yesterday paid an unscheduled visit to Itakudima, Zuban Area,  in Ilorin West Local Government, to assess the volume of wastes at the illegal dumpsite in the area. The visit was part of the state government's efforts to curtail illegal dumpsites, especially in the Ilorin metropolis. The Commissioner, who was accompanied on the visit by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Dupe Adekeye, noted that the waste has constituted a big threat, as well as posing a serious danger to the people living in the area.
