Inspection ongoing at the Herald, Ilorin to check the  functioning standard of the equipments used in evacuating waste in the metroplolis. 

The Hon Commissioner for Environment, Hon Abosede Olaitan Buraimoh,the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Pastor Abraham Kola Ojo, Director of Environment, Mr Towoju Gabriel with the Chairman, Enforcement Committee on Environment, (Rtd) Air Vice Marshal and (Rtd)Colonel Kayode Umar at the site.



All hands on deck to make sure this equipment are resuscitated for effective and efficient functioning to curb the menace of indiscriminate dumping in the metroplolis.

The Director of Environment, Mr Towoju Gabriel,the Director, Personnel Finance and Supply, Pastor Adeniran Adebara and General Manager, KWEPA, Alhaji Saad Ayuba at the inspection tour to Herald.

Illegal Itakudima Dumpsite To Be Evacuated- Banigbe

Against the backdrop of the rising wave of illegal dumpsites within Ilorin, the  Kwara State Capital, the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Remilekun Banigbe, yesterday paid an unscheduled visit to Itakudima, Zuban Area,  in Ilorin West Local Government, to assess the volume of wastes at the illegal dumpsite in the area. The visit was part of the state government's efforts to curtail illegal dumpsites, especially in the Ilorin metropolis. The Commissioner, who was accompanied on the visit by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Dupe Adekeye, noted that the waste has constituted a big threat, as well as posing a serious danger to the people living in the area.
